A. NATURAL FLOW EMDR – A CREATIVE RESOURCING MODEL

A. NATURAL FLOW EMDR – A CREATIVE RESOURCING MODEL

Natural Flow EMDR is a creative, integrative, resourcing model. It draws from other approaches (Somatic Experience-SE, body resourcing, ego state) and uses innovations of practice (eye movements of varied speeds/directions, continuous healing sound stimulation, tactile variations). This approach entails gentle, low SUDS processing with “essential listening” leading to the client’s “essential truth” and healing resolution. It is a “no assumptions model” where processing is guided by suspending all assumptions and carefully attending to all in the moment communications. The Natural Flow EMDR workshops combine lecture with live demonstration, active audience participation and mini-practica.

“David’s workshop was outstanding. He did a live demo that was the best any of us had ever seen in or out of EMDR. It was the brilliant work of a master therapist.” Victoria Britt, New Jersey.

B. EMDR PERFORMANCE AND CREATIVITY ENHANCEMENT

This presentation teaches how to harness powerful state-of-the art EMDR performance and creativity enhancement techniques with professional and elite athletes, performing artists, writers, executives. Also addressed will be the business end of developing a successful performance-oriented EMDR practice. Performance EMDR is explained step-by-step as a creative, in the moment approach unusually effective in removing blocks and inhibitions to performance and creativity, and opening up peak performance for those already high functioning. The neurophysiology and psychology of performance anxiety (speaking anxiety, stagefright, audition anxiety) are taught from a theoretical and practical basis. The use of EMDR and Ego State work to heal the inner critic and its particular impact on performance and creativity will be examined as well as using EMDR with athletes tracking body sensations, micro-movements, the “yips” freeze phenomenon and the pervasive effect of sports injuries.

“Thanks for coming to for your wonderful workshop. We are still having folks call and tell us how terrific you were…the evaluations were glowing. More than one person said that they thought it was the best workshop they have ever attended…one mentioned that it was the best in more than 20 years.” Irene Giessel, Cincinnati.

C. EMDR ACTING COACHING – THE HEALING ART FORM EMDR

Acting Coaching is the innovative use of EMDR protocols and bilaterality to help actors face creative and performance challenges. Acting parallels EMDR therapy by activating of emotional memory, use of body experience with imagery and sense memory. This presentation addresses audition and stage anxiety, role preparation, going into character, leaving character and creating unconsciously held character memory. Actors are traumatized by constant rejection and coaches and directors who strip their defense mechanisms to evoke emotion – EMDR acting coaching provides both creative enhancement and healing. EMDR Singing Coaching is also highlighted. This workshop uses live demonstrations by professional actors and singers.

“As an actor, artist, humanitarian, and mother, I am heartened by Dr. Grand’s success in healing trauma and helping people open up to new levels of creativity and performance.” Jane Seymour.

“In 40 years of teaching acting, I have never witnessed such profound changes in an actor’s ability to reach inwardly and express outwardly, with great freedom and authority, a deeper and more complex sense of his or her character’s life – and this after 10 minutes work with David. His work is the wave of the future for actor training!” George Morrison, President, The New Actors Workshop.
